Johan Vineyards Description
A few years ago, our winemaker Morgan had a wildly inspiring rosé from Austria, and thought she’d try her hand at making one herself. Think hibiscus tea meets crunchy cranberries and a splash of black cherry. The label highlights one of our favorite music genres - DISCO - and our lovable and gregarious Johan chickens.
The 2023 Disco Chicken wine is a blend of Zweigelt (68%), Pinot Noir (20%), and Kerner (12%). Both red varieties were harvested, soaked on skins for a few hours and direct pressed – and followed up with the addition of destemmed Kerner berries floating in the juice during fermentation to bring a textural, floral pop to the wine.
