The 2019 Côteaux Bourguignon comes from a plot of 80-year-old Gamay close to Domaine Grivot’s parcel in Flagey-Echézeaux and is 100% whole bunch. It was picked later in September. The tight nose offers a mixture of blueberry and blackberry fruit, the whole bunch more influential than any carbonic, with strong black pepper notes. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins that provide commendable structure, and no sign of overripeness despite the late picking. Saline black fruit appears on the finish.
