Failla Description
The Chehalem Mountains Vineyard, located at the southeastern corner of the Chehalem Mountain AVA and perched east of Ribbon Ridge, was hand-selected by Oregon wine pioneer Dick Erath in 1968. This site, sitting at 500 ft. elevation, is known for its unique terroir. The winemaking process for this Chardonnay involves native fermentation and aging in 10% new French oak cigar barrels, emphasizing a minimalist, hands-off approach by vigneron Ehren Jordan. The resulting wine offers a rich palette with ripe Anjou pear and subtle hints of white jasmine, showcasing the vineyard's distinctive character.
