Vinous: 93-95 Points
The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet that unfolds light touches of finely delineated raspberry, blackcurrant, peony and menthol scents with each swirl. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a mélange of red and black fruit and a liberal sprinkling of black pepper toward the finish from the stems. Very harmonious and quite persistent, this is a very fine Beaux Monts that has a little more elegance than the previous vintage. Drink: 2028-2050.
Burghound: 92-95 Points
A cool, airy and elegant nose is comprised by purple fruit, exotic spiced tea and pretty floral wisps. The super-sleek, detailed and mineral-driven middle weight flavors exude evident minerality on the youthfully austere and strikingly persistent finale. This is not particularly dense but the balance is excellent and this too should age effortlessly. Drink: 2035+.
Wine Advocate: 92-94 Points
The 2023 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts was still quite primary when I tasted it, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and suave, with a sweet core of fruit, it's pure and mineral.
