Complex mineral and flint aromas are supported by layers of white flowers, lemon pith, orange blossoms and profound chalkiness. The palate is medium-bodied with energetic acidity and a vivid mouthfeel, giving a chewy sensation, a mouthwatering finish and a steely, granitic aftertaste. Excellent energy and complexity from a site that also produces refined reds. Delicious. Drink or hold.

Particularly showy this year, the nose starts with classic Chardonnay notes of yellow apple and baking spice. The palate turns on the spigot of concentration. The texture is highly appealing with an intense chalkiness structuring the creamy mid-palate. The saline finish turns crisp and savory.
Vinous: 92-94 Points
The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot Blanc 1er Cru, which was taken from tank and will be bottled in December. This has quite a leesy bouquet as you would expect, though with fine energy and delineation, touches of Anjou pear emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a lovely texture, a little honeyed, though not overtly tropical with a delicate touch of spice that enlivens the finish, hints of peach skin on the aftertaste. This might well surpass the previous vintage.
