The Decugnano dei Barbi 2022 Orvieto Classico Antico Mare is an absolute stunner, starting with its enticing aromas of Spanish broom, lychee, white stone fruit and the barest hint of cream-filled pastry. Dry and polished, the delicious, elegantly structured palate doles out creamy white peach, ripe yellow pear, cake spice and a saline tang before a white almond finish. Bright acidity keeps it balanced and energized. The best white I’ve tried so far from Umbria and from this fantastic estate, it’s a fantastic wine that’s great now but also promises years of pleasure. Drink through 2031.- 95 Points, Kerin O'Keefe

Wickedly fresh and wafting up like a cool breeze off an alpine peak, the 2021 Orvieto Classico Superiore Mare Antico mixes crushed rock with raw almonds, hints of sage and ginger. This opens with a lovely inner sweetness contrasted by candied lime and salty minerals. It flows across the palate with ease, long and citrus-tinged. It tapers off structured and crisp, with a green apple crunch and residual acids keeping the mouth watering for more. The complexity here is off the charts, coupled with fantastic balance. The Mare Antico is beautiful today but with a bright future as well. Drink: 2024-2034.
