Kilkerran Description
The first age-statement release from the Glen Gyle distillery in Campbeltown, where they fired up the long-dormant stills again almost 13 years ago, is sensational. Aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and Sherry casks and lightly peated, the nose shows a touch of smoke melding with red cherry, hazelnut and a whiff of toasted marshmallow. On the palate you'll find a good dose of orange peel with all the classic bourbon barrel influence: butterscotch, vanilla and raw honey. A smooth, lemon-crème finish with a splash of sea air ties this all together nicely
